Job-The Blessings From God

More than a week has passed.

My friends stayed with me after they offered the sacrifice God commanded them to do.

My sores healed in an amazing time. After hearing God's words, I realized even more the importance of worshipping Him and keeping Him first in my life.

All my brothers and sisters came to my house. In fact, everyone I knew came to visit me. Only a few days ago they mocked me, now they rejoice with me. I can't be angry with them, though. They didn't understand what was really happening. I didn't completely understand myself.

My guests comforted and consoled me for all the terrible things that had happened: losing my children, my sheep, donkeys, oxen, and servants. Each one of them felt so bad they gave me a piece of silver and a gold ring.

Years have passed. I am amazed and thankful to the Almighty for all He has given me since that terrible day. According to my staff, I now have fourteen thousand sheep, six thousand camels, a thousand yoke of oxen, and a thousand donkeys.

I also now have seven sons and three daughters. I named my first daughter, Jemimah, the second Keziah, and the third, Keren-Happuch. I look at my lovely daughters and agree with those who have said, "Nowhere in the land were there found women as beautiful as Job's daughters." I couldn't help but grant them the same inheritance as my sons even though this is not the custom.

God allowed me to live many days. I have seen one hundred and forty years since the day when I lost everything. I have seen my children and their children to the fourth generation. I love to play with the little ones, and talk with them as they grow up.

I can tell my days are coming to an end. I am very happy because I have lived to an old age and have had a very full life. Now, I will go to live with the Almighty in heaven. What more could anyone ask? May God be praised.

1. Why did Job's family and everyone who knew him come to visit?
2. What did God give Job?
3. How long did Job live after all the terrible things happened?
4. Where was Job going?
5. Who lost in this battle?

God had allowed this testing of Job to happen to prove to everyone what He expected from us.
